A few steps from my underground studio I find myself immediately in the Warringal parklands, surrounded by trees and pathways along the Yarra (Birrarung) River. 

Walking around Banyule Flats provides a wealth of inspiration and transformation, from a worrying, stressed out ego mind, to calm and curious, aware of fellow living creatures, trees, birds, and insects filling the world around me.

Taken from small sketches and immediate recollections and sensations post walking the windy path, gestures and marks delve beyond the literal into the pre-intellectual responses guided by hand and brush.
