Description

‘Gum as a model whilst shedding’, is a works on paper mounted on wooden panel, varnished, created with ink and acrylic, 70cmx50cm.

This work was created immediately after a morning walk around the river.  The bark from the gums were glistening in the morning sun, after the morning condensation.  I always find the gums are beautiful dancing models, ready for drawing with their white ghost limbs moving and dancing through space and time.  You will find remnants of the walk in the rice paper sketches collaged to the work.

This work is mounted on wooden panel with pine sides, using a Japanese mounting technique of rice paste and a semi gloss varnish to protect the paper and allow for immediate hanging without the need for a glass surface frame.
